Today I’m grooving to this 1963 pop hit from Japan by Kyu Sakamoto. Such nice sweet tones and breezy rhythm–gotta love a good whistle! This song not only was featured in “Django Unchained” by in the newest Miyazaki film “The Wind is Rising”

I love this song. this was grandma’s favorite song. She was Japanese and she used to play this all the time.
