You Can Have It All, as an exhibition is about experience and awareness of one’s body and state of mind. As a body of work it encapsulates a material language I’ve utilized over the course of three years to express a diary like sense of my personal experience of the present. This work ebbs, flows, and beats organically from conception to exhibition. This evolution started with the concept of cartoonish evil ice cream depicted in pink oil paintings and video work, but quickly transformed into a tumorous metaphoric experience of my mother’s cancer. This exhibition explores three main themes: experience of living now, the cyclical progression of life and death and the mother-child relationship.
